The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Celebral Palsy

The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Celebral Palsy is a charity that provides a wonderful facility based at Ingfield Manor in Billingshurst, West Sussex. The charity relise solely on public donations and makes an amazing difference to families with children with Celebral Palsy, helping them learn and grow in a fantastic environment. The team have visited the charity and enjoy raising money for a local cause that really makes a difference.

In 2015 we took part in the Horsham Rotary Club Elephant Trail as people visited the town, they tracked down the elephants and raised money for charity - our elephant will raised over £1000 for the Trust.

Previously, our MD, Neil Moore, has cycled 200 miles around Majorca - up and down the mountains in just 4 days in the heat, raising over £1000 for the charity. This was a real personal challenge and Neil is delighted to have managed to raise this amount for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust.

In 2013 the GL & Co team walked a long way for charity! We relay-walked 100 kms (60+ miles) across the South Downs way to raise over £3200! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of our sponsors for helping us raise such a fantastic sum.

2012 saw the anniversary of GL & Co and we held a Ball with dinner and dancing to celebrate. The ball raised money for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust at the same time - with a charity auction, grand raffle and sponsorship, we generated over £4,600 for the charity.

Other Charities & Community Events

In 2016 we were a main sponsor of Piazza Italia 10, for the third year running, in Horsham town centre over Easter weekend. Piazza Italia sees over 100 Ferraris' and supercars on display in Horsham and helps increase visitorrs to the town and trade for local businesses. The event relies on local business sponsors in order to be run and we were delighted to be a sponsor over the weekend which saw over 100,000 visitors to Horsham and much fun was had by all. We have also helped stage Italia in Piazza in Storrington, again, increasing visitors to the town and helping local businesses.

In 2013 we adopted a giraffe as part of the Horsham Rotary Club Giraffe Trail - almost 10,000 people took part in the charity trail around the town and our giraffe was signed by Brian May and then auctioned to raise funds for the Horsham Community Responders.

We also supported the Heron Way Primary School Summer Fun Day in Horsham from 2011 to 2016, sponsoring the refreshments tent, producing the programmes for them and advertising the event on our boards. The PTA have raised a record breaking amounts at each Fun Day and we are very proud to help them raise such fantastic amounts.

The Rotary Clubs of Storrington and Horsham regularly give to local charities and we support various events throughout the year, including the pancake race and easter bunny hunt in Horsham town centre.

We sponsored the Royal United U14's Football Club  in 2012 which continued to do well with the Under 14's team not only winning their League's Championship Cup but also the coveted Sportsmanship of the Year Award over and above all the teams in all four of the leagues.  We attended their Presentation day at the end of June 2012 and proudly presented the two Cups we sponsored this year.

Our main focus for 2010 was St Barnabas Hospice in Worthing which has the mammoth task of raising millions of pounds for the construction of a new hospice, work is already under way with completion in 2011. We purchased a life stone which will be placed on the walk of life in the grounds of the new hospice. This is such a worthwhile cause and we have seen at first hand the wonderful care and facilities they provide for many people.

We give all worthy causes our consideration of support and welcome further enquiries from charities in the area.
