You might think that things start to go a little quiet for estate agents just before Christmas as people start Christmas preparations and shopping in earnest.

In fact, it’s still a very busy time of year for us as people are looking to move before Christmas or at least exchange contracts so they can move early in the New Year. As we stay involved in the process until after completion, we are kept very busy working on behalf of our buyers and sellers ensuring the sales progress quickly and smoothly.

This is also an ideal time of year to start preparations to sell your home in the New Year. We can prepare photographs, details, EPC and floorplans over the Christmas period. This puts you in an excellent position for a sales campaign in January when there are new buyers on the market who have made the decision to move during the holiday season. There are also traditionally less houses on the market at the very start of the year, so with less properties and more buyers you could do well.

We have another issue of our exclusive magazine, Opening Doors, being published in Spring 2013 and this is distributed to over 5,000 households in West Sussex. By coming to market now, your home could be included in this magazine and reach a very wide audience.

If you wanted to start proceedings earlier, our website receives a much larger than expected number of visits over the Christmas holidays – perhaps as people start to make that decision to move. With your home on there during this period all those prospective buyers will see your property.

Should you wish to keep disruption to a minimum over Christmas we could market your property with an Open Day for viewings in the New Year at a time that suits you – this builds excitement with prospective buyers and also means you can enjoy your Christmas in peace, knowing that in the New Year you are well placed to make that move.
