Coldwaltham is a small village in the South Downs National Park, about two miles south of Pulborough beside the A29. Coldwaltham boasts a village hall, pub, church and a primary school.

Pulborough is a larger village by the River Arun with a good variety of local shops including butchers, greengrocer, banks, library, doctor and dentist surgeries, a Tesco store and a Sainsbury's. The mainline railway station at Pulborough is on the main line to London (via Gatwick), Chichester and the south coast. There are good links to the national road network as the A29 and A283 cross at Pulborough.
