Billingshurst is a small town located just off the A29, which was a Roman road called Stane Street. It is in the Sussex Weald and lies eight miles south west of Horsham. During medieval times, the village was a coaching stop on the main road from Bognor to Horsham. There are some lovely period buildings in the village, and the medieval church of St Marys is built on a prominent position within the village. Over time, more churches have been built and there are now four of various denominations. The local countryside is beautiful and fantastic for walks and rambling.
Billingshurst High Street has its wide range of shops, as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs using local produce. Once a month there is a Farmers Market, and the village has a lovely local community. There is a library, doctors surgery, and local schools ranging from infants all the way up to secondary.
